On Oct. 12, heads and reporters of overseas Chinese-language media organizations taking part in the “Mountains and Waters of the Tibetan and Qiang Lands, Appreciated Together — 2026 Overseas Chinese-Language Media Trip to Aba” arrived at the Wanlicheng Liangzi Pass in Xiaojin County of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, experiencing on site the natural scenery and cultural depth of the high-mountain pass.

The Wanlicheng Liangzi Pass lies in the Wanlicheng Valley area of Xiaojin County, at an altitude of about 4,600 meters. According to local legend, long walls were once built here for war defense and the walls resembled the Great Wall, hence the name “Wanlicheng,” or “Ten-Thousand-Li Wall.”

The pass is an important route linking Jinchuan County seat with Fubian Township in Xiaojin County, and a key section of the Xiaojin Road (Provincial Highway 451). The road runs 87.71 kilometers in total, stringing together along the way a diversity of scenery — snow mountains, meadows, forest seas and red-stone formations.

Two alpine lakes are also found near the pass. Whenever spring comes and flowers bloom, wild flowers and grasses grow thickly around them; under the blue sky the mountain springs take on a deep blue hue, setting off a scene together with the alpine meadows and the snowy mountains and forest seas.
